Unfortunately not. Although we work with very high levels of magnification in darkfield – usually at the limit of what’s possible with optical microscopy – we can’t see into the molecular level, which is what’s needed to see spike protein itself. Researchers working in this field have found that we can see the effects of spike protein with LBA, and since the patterns appear in real-time, it can be used to monitor the effects of treatment in these cases.
